How To Remove Yellowness On Nails

Every lady want a beautiful whiteing nails. But so many dark colour of nail polish makes your nails yellow that can be looking so bad.

The best way to prevent this from happening is to always use a clear base coat before applying your favorite shade of nail polish.

Other causes of nail discoloration can be a fungal infection, chronic liver disease, excessive smoking and poor lifestyle habits.
Yellow nails can be caused by an internal disorder that may require medical care.

Causes of yellow nails?

Using an acetone nail polish remover is also a known culprit in exacerbating the yellow tint. "I never recommend using straight acetone on a nail, ever.  "There's no reason to." Always reach for a non-acetone nail polish remover when taking off your color.

If you’re a smoker, chances are your nails are yellowed from nicotine staining. Yet another good reason to give up the habit!

Another common cause of yellow nails is a fungal infection. Fungus-infected nails can turn all sorts of colors and may also cause other nail issues such as flaking, peeling, and an unpleasant odor. Again, see your doc if you think your nails may be yellow due to a fungal infection. Though there are over-the-counter treatments available, prescription remedies tend to be more effective.

There are some home remedy to remove yellowness from your nails and get whitning nails.

Baking soda:

The bleaching and exfoliating properties of baking soda can help remove stains from the nails.

Mix two and one-half tablespoons of baking soda and one tablespoon of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide in a small bowl. Use cotton swabs to apply the mixture on the stained nails. Leave it on for three to four minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat this process every six to eight weeks.

Whitening Thoothpaste

Toothpaste that helps to make your teeth whiter can also be used to remove yellow stains from nails. For mild stains, you can use toothpaste that contains any whitening ingredient including hydrogen peroxide.

Apply a small coat of whitening toothpaste on your nails. Leave it on for five to 10 minutes.
Using a nail brush, scrub your nails gently.
Wash the toothpaste off with cotton balls soaked in lukewarm water.

Repeat the process two or three times per week for a month.

Orange peal:

The high amount of vitamin C present in orange peel will help remove yellow stains from your nails.

Rub your nails with fresh orange peel two or three times daily. Within a few weeks, you will see effective results.

Mix two tablespoons of dried orange peel powder and a little water to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on your nails and leave it on for 10 minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to remove the paste from your nails and then wash them with lukewarm water.

Follow this remedy twice daily for one to two weeks.

Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide has whitening properties that work wonders on yellow stained nails. Be sure to use a solution that is only 3 percent hydrogen peroxide.

Pour three to four tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide into one-half cup of water and mix them well. Soak your nails in the solution for two minutes. Using a soft toothbrush, gently scrub your nails. Then wash with normal water.

Do this once a week for several months.

Tea tree oil

If your nails are yellowing due to some kind of fungus-related infection, tea tree oil is the best home remedy to try. Tea tree oil is a natural fungicide and has antiseptic as well as antimicrobial properties that will help fight infection and restore the natural color of your nails.

Apply pure tea tree oil to your nail beds using an eye dropper. Leave it on for a few minutes, and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do this twice daily for several months until you notice improvement.

Mix equal amounts of tea tree oil and olive oil. Apply the solution to your nails using cotton balls. Do this twice daily for several months.

How To Keep Your Nails Healthy

Regular nail care results in healthy nails that you can be proud to take to work or out on the town. Your nail care plan can be simple and inexpensive. with cleaning and maintaining nails might actually put your normally strong nails at risk for yeast or bacterial infections. You won't need frequent manicures to maintain good-looking nails if you follow these simple tips.

Try Biotin

As long as you eat a healthy, varied diet, you don't need any dietary supplements to guarantee strong nails. But, people with weak nails may benefit from supplemental biotin, a B vitamin. "Biotin has been shown to be helpful for strengthening and growing our nails, it didn't luck into strong nails by birth, and she has had success strengthening them by taking biotin every day.

Enjoy Polish

Wearing nail polish isn't going to harm your healthy nails, although you probably should give your nails a break on the polish periodically. As part of your home manicures, make sure you choose acetone-free nail polish remover when you decide to begin that break. Wear gloves for better nail care when working with your hands, such as when you're gardening or housecleaning, to protect the polish and keep dirt out of your nails.

Moisturize Cuticles

Think of your cuticles like the protective caulking around a bathtub. If you cut them back too far or push them around too aggressively, you damage them. That, in turn, leaves your nail bed open to infection. As part of regular nail care to maintain healthy nails, the advises moisturizing cuticles and not even pushing them back or trimming them at all, even during a professional manicure. Be aware of the signs of infection, including redness, pain, swelling, and even pus in your cuticles and the nearby skin.

Keep Nails Trimmed

"The fashion trend is to have neat, more natural-looking, shorter nails and not the long talons of the past, Trimming nails regularly helps you to maintain healthy nails and helps to avoid snagging or breaking. How frequently you trim will depend on how fast your nails grow. Use a fine file to smooth out the edges of your nails. As part of your manicures, you can also lightly buff the surface of your nails, especially if you tend to get ridges.

  Clean With a Nail Brush

Many women risk infection with rigorous cleaning under the nails using long, pointy tools, both at home and during manicures. "Women themselves or the manicurist are trying so diligently to clean under the nail that they end up with a kind of a gap between the nail and the nail bed,"This kind of aggressive nail care is an open door to bacterial or fungal infections. Instead, scrub gently with an old-fashioned nail brush for healthy nails.

Wear Dish Gloves

Frequently immersing hands in hot, soapy water to wash dishes can weaken even strong nails, mostly because this process dries them out along with the rest of the skin on your hands. Protective nail care calls for wearing gloves to protect your hands while you scrub. Interestingly, swimmers who are usually immersed in cooler water do not seem to have the same kind of challenge to their strong nails.

Minimize Manicures

Keep manicures simple to preserve healthy nails. "Save a few dollars,"Go in, get your nail polish removed, have them shape your nails — not real brutally — get a fresh coat, and be done with it." Skip the acrylic nails, which ultimately could lead to more infections, and be aware that there is a small risk of skin cancer from the UV light that affixes solar nails. Wear sunscreen on your hands if you are going to be putting them under the light.

Take Infections Seriously

Smoothing ragged edges and wrapping a broken nail in an adhesive bandage are fine, but if you see signs of infection, check in with your doctor for the needed nail care. You'll probably recognize the signs of a bacterial infection (redness, swelling, and pain), but you might miss the early signs of a nail fungal infection, such as puffy, red, irritated skin around the nail bed. Fungal infections could improve with an over-the-counter antifungal treatment, but they sometimes require prescription medications — for optimal nail care, get medical attention when healthy nails are at risk.

The Facts About Fungus

These infections can settle in without your even realizing it. To be on the safe side, , you should periodically remove any polish and inspect your fingers and toes. "Fungus is contagious and can spread from one nail to another — and even from nails to skin," she explains. "These infections aren't dangerous, but they can be painful and unsightly." What to know:

Causes

Humid places are fungus favorites, which helps explain why sweaty shoes and socks make toes more susceptible than fingers. Fungal nail infections account for about 50 percent of all nail disorders. Untreated athlete's foot and nail injuries can also make you prone to infection.

Warning Signs

Your nail is thickening, yellowing, crumbling, or lifting from its bed (as if it's about to fall off).

Treatments

The bad news: "Since the infection occurs under the nail plate or in the nail bed, successful treatment will take several months or more, trying prescription oral medication (like Lamisil). For new or mild cases, a topical medication may help.

Prevention

Wash and dry your feet thoroughly. Keep your shoes on in public places. If your feet sweat a lot, change your socks often.
